Establishment of large tax office, FIRS Awka
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) had issued a public notice informing all taxpayers, Tax Advisors and the general public of the establishment of a new large Taxpayers’ Office LTO (Non-oil) in Awka, Anambra State.
The office is to improve the services provided by FIRS and to promote voluntary compliance and ease of paying taxes.
The new office is located at: PLOT 4, ABUJA ESTATE, GLASS HOUSE.

ENUGU/ONISHA EXPRESS WAY, AWKA ANAMBRA STATE
The office shall be responsible for the management of the tax files of all categories of taxpayers with turnover above N2 billion and domicile in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States with exception of Companies in the Upstream Sector of Petroleum Operation (Oil producing Companies).
From July 15, 2020, the affected taxpayers shall submit all tax returns, correspondence or enquires regarding their tax affairs to LTO (Non-Oil) Awka for processing.
The tax file of the affected companies will also be moved to the new office by FIRS. The affected tax payers may need to collate all their tax returns, tax audit reports and correspondences with FIRS in the last six years in readiness for any enquiry from FIRS or create temporary tax file since the movement of files by FIRS may take time or a loss of files on document may be experienced in the course of movement of the files.
